Astana, June 27, House of Mazhilis. Chairman of the Mazhilis Nurlan Nigmatulin conducted several bilateral negotiations with the heads of parliaments within the participation in the Second meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Eurasian countries.

                A representative forum “Promoting Interparliamentary Cooperation for Common Prosperity in the Eurasian Region” is taking place today in Seoul (South Korea).

One of the first meetings took place in the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. The Chairman of the Mazhilis and his Korean counterpart Chung Se Gyeong discussed the issues of intensifying the interparliamentary dialogue.

Noting also the strategic nature of relations between Kazakhstan and Korea, N.Nigmatulin expressed confidence that great prospects open in connection with the EEU creation.

In turn, Chung Se Gyeong, confirmed readiness for building cooperation with our country, while emphasizing the leading positions of Kazakhstan in the Central Asian region.

In order to develop interparliamentary contacts, the Chairman of the Mazhilis invited his Korean colleague to our country with an official visit.

                In the course of the conversation with the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin, the promising areas of further cooperation within the framework of integration associations, including CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, were discussed.

As the parties noted, active interaction of the heads of Kazakhstan and Russia testifies lasting friendly and strategic relations between the two countries, as well as sets the dynamics of the work of parliamentarians. N.Nigmatulin and V.Volodin underlined the importance of the activities of the deputy corps aimed at providing legislative support for the agreements of the two heads of states.

The activation of relations between the parliamentarians of Kazakhstan and Armenia will be promoted by the friendship group, the membership of which is planned to be approved in the near future in the National Assembly of Armenia. This was announced by the Chairman Ara Babloyan during the meeting with N.Nigmatulin. The members of the deputy association will include representatives of all parties represented in the National Assembly.

The parties also exchanged views on political changes in the two countries. As Armenian parliamentarian noted, the constitutional reform proposed by the President of Kazakhstan is another step towards further democratization of Kazakh society.
