ABDRAKHMANOV Sauytbek Abdrakhmanuly
Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan
He was born in 1951 in the village of Uya, Kazygurt region, South Kazakhstan (now Turkestan region).
In 1975, graduated from the Kazakh State University named after Kirov S.M. with a degree in journalism. Doctor of Philology, Professor. He began his career in 1975 as a correspondent for the department of literature and art of the “Socialist Kazakhstan” newspaper.
Since 1980, he was in charge of the department of the Soviet construction, and since 1983, he worked at the department of the life of the political party, was a member of the editorial board. In 1987-1990 – was an instructor of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, Head of the cultural sector, Adviser to the Presidential Council of the Kazakh SSR. In 1991, transferred to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as the Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Interethnic Relations, then the First Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Policy until 1995. From 1995 to 1997, worked as the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1997-2000, he was the first Vice-president of the Republican Corporation “Television and Radio of Kazakhstan”.
From 2000 to 2016 – was the President of the Joint Stock Company Republican Newspaper “Egemen Kazakhstan”. In 2003-2004 he was the Minister of Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since March 24, 2016 - Since January 14, 2021 – Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the sixth convocation, elected by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Head of the Parliamentary group of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since January 15, 2021 - Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the seventh convocation. Elected by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Head of the Deputy group of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Abdrakhmanov Sauytbek is an author of many books in the Kazakh and Russian languages, including: “Our Pushkin”, “Eldik syny” (“The test of statehood”), “Toltuma men teltuma” (“Original and translation”), “Translation of a poetry and the poetry of translation”, “Chronicle of Independence”, “The Calendar of Humanity”, “Ver bana at. The Pages of Pushkin studies”, “Koran and Pushkin”, “Adebiet Alemi” (“The World of Literature”), “Oner Olkesi” (“The World of Art”), “Abyz Abish” (“A Sage Abish”), the author's anthology of Kazakh poetry of the 20th century in two volumes, the book of reports “Kazakhstan saddled a horse”, that is the fruit of the journalist's foreign business trips, visited 58 countries of the world. He translated the Arabic folk novel “A Life of Sultan al-Zahir Beibars", the novel “Сastaways of society” by V. Hugo.
He has the honorary titles “Honored Worker of Kazakhstan”, “Honored Practitioner of Kazakhstan”. Awarded with the “Barys” order of the 1st degree, the “Parasat” order, a gold medal “Birlik” from the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Laureate of the President's Prize in Journalism, the International Literary Prize “Alash”. His merits in the field of Pushkin studies were awarded with the Medal “Zealot of Enlightenment” of the Academy of Russian Literature. Additionally, he is the Laureate of Abai State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of literature and art. Married and has four children.
