Deputies of the Mazhilis continue to work in flood-affected regions


Astana, April 5, House of the Mazhilis. Deputies of the Mazhilis work in all regions affected by floods. Mazhilismen visit flooded settlements, meet with local residents, organize the delivery of humanitarian aid and the work of volunteers, as well as participate in the work of operational headquarters.

Deputy from the region Abai Nurtai Sabilianov arrived in his region. He examined the washed-out bridge in the village of Bozai in the Ayagoz district, as well as facilities in the Kokpekty and Zharma districts, answered questions from local residents.

Due to a sharp increase in air temperature and intense snowmelt, a local emergency was declared in the Abai region. The water level rose in the vicinity of the city of Semey and several districts, washed away roads and bridges. Now the situation has stabilized, roads are being repaired after the water has left.

Deputies of the Mazhilis Yerlan Sairov and Lukbek Tumashinov visited Tarbagatai district of East Kazakhstan region to get acquainted with the flood prevention works. The situation in the region is under the control of the local akimat and deputies of the maslikhat. A section of the regional highway "Aksuat – Bakey – Karasu – Akzhar" has been blocked, measures have been taken to divert flood waters from the road.

The Majilismen also got acquainted with the repair work on the section of the Kalbatau – Maykapshagai road of republican significance from Kalbatau to Bogas. During the meeting with representatives of the Chinese contractor responsible for the work, they discussed issues of speeding up repairs.

The mazhilisman from the single-mandate district of Abzal Kuspan is located in the West Kazakhstan region. He got acquainted with the conditions in the evacuation centers in Uralsk. The deputy organized, together with volunteers, the delivery of humanitarian aid (food, mattresses, etc.) to the village of Karatobe in the Karatobinsky district. The Mazhilisman also met with local residents to clarify the situation.

– In the village of Uzynkol, Terektinsky district, hydraulic structures with a volume of 80 million cubic meters are in disrepair. A lot of water is coming. If the dam breaks, then five rural districts are in danger of flooding. Despite the difficulties, we managed to convince the villagers to leave their homes. About 1 thousand police officers were involved in this work," Abzal Kuspan said.

Deputy Yerkebulan Mambetov got acquainted with the situation in the Kyzylzhar district of the North Kazakhstan region. In the village of Vagulino, 50 tons of inert material have been harvested, special equipment and motor pumps have been put on standby, and a reception point for villagers has been opened at the local school. Preparations are also in full swing in neighboring settlements: Yakore, Olshanka, Sokolovka.

– We keep the situation under control, no one will leave the villagers in trouble. The most important thing now is to prevent human casualties, livestock deaths, and property damage. The situation is very serious this year. It is quite possible that the flood will be greater than in 2017. Because all the water from Aktobe and Akmola regions will go through us. Be prepared, the most important thing is that the flood does not come as a surprise to people," Yerkebulan Mambetov stressed.

Next, the mazhilisman visited the Shal Akyn area, where he visited the temporary accommodation point, the Sergeyevsky hydroelectric complex and inspected the drainage shaft in the village of Grigoryevka. Over the past night, a 40 cm overflow of water was recorded at the reservoir, but the situation can be kept under control.

Deputy Aidarbek Khojanazarov visited Kostanay region, where he visited the flood-affected Amangeldy district and the city of Arkalyk. The deputy organized the delivery of essential goods: water, cereals, canned food, bedding, candles, personal hygiene items. During the meeting, local residents asked the deputy their questions.

– The situation remains critical, the water level continues to rise. Residential buildings, property, and livestock of local residents were damaged. In general, the Government will provide full support to the victims. The state has thrown all its resources into flood control. The deputies will keep in touch with the population and give full information. You can contact us for all questions," said Aidarbek Khojanazarov.

Deputies Baurzhan Smagulov and Arman Kalykov left for the Karaganda region. Here they visited the settlements of Zhanatalap, Rostovka, Tegiszhol, Kyzylzhar in Nurinsky and Bukhar-Zhyrau districts. We got acquainted with the preparations for floods.

Mazhilismen also work in Atyrau and Pavlodar regions.
