Deputies will take control of payments to victims of floods


April 10th. The deputies of the Mazhilis continue to work in the regions affected by floods. Special attention is paid to areas where a difficult situation persists. In some localities, large amounts of water begin to recede, but residents cannot return to their homes, as they are uninhabitable. At meetings with their owners, parliamentarians explain how flood damage will be compensated.

Deputies Yerkebulan Mambetov, Dmitry Koloda and Bakytzhan Bazarbek got acquainted with the progress of work on flood control in several settlements of the North Kazakhstan region.

Today, the water level in the village of Pokrovka in the Yesilsky district is more than 1.5 meters, which is dangerous. The circumstances are complicated by the ice drift on the Ishim River. Due to the rising water, 24 houses were flooded, residents were evacuated in a timely manner. The Mazhilismen met with them and explained the situation regarding cost recovery.

– Compensation will be provided in accordance with the relevant Government decree. It is necessary to submit an application for compensation to local government agencies within 30 days from the beginning of the emergency, and the amount of damage is determined within 10 working days. Funds for compensation are available in the reserves of local executive bodies. If additional funding is required, it will be provided from the State reserve. The state will provide assistance, no one will be left without attention," Dmitry Koloda stressed.

The deputies also got acquainted with the restoration work in the neighboring village of Nikolaevka. More than 20 houses were in the water here, all residents were sent to a local evacuation center. The construction of earthworks is carried out, equipment is working.

On the same day, the majilismen left for the Kyzylzharsky and Shal Akyn districts, where they got acquainted with the situation in the villages of Novonikolskoye, Karatal and at the hydroelectric power plant in the city of Sergeevka. Today, the water level at the facility has been exceeded by 4.2 meters. According to forecasts, large amounts of water are expected in Petropavlovsk within 1-2 days.

During a trip to Atyrau region, deputy Aidarbek Khojanazarov met with residents of Kulsary who lost their homes due to flooding. According to him, 40% of the city is flooded, there is a risk of the spread of various diseases. The Mazhilisman noted that the local epidemiological center should take the necessary measures to prevent the problem. Over the past two days, the water level has decreased here. Now the authorities will work to compensate the affected residents.

Aidarbek Khojanazarov also visited the Beineu district of the Mangystau region, where Kulsar residents whose houses were flooded were forced to leave. An evacuation center was organized at the local school, where about 700 people found shelter. The lessons for the students were transferred to an online format.

Deputy Vera Kim is in the Pavlodar region. She met with the services involved in flood control measures in Aktogay, Uspensky, Irtysh and Zhelezinsky districts. These are employees of akimats, emergency departments, departments for the coordination of employment and social programs, education, health, SES and others. At the meetings, special attention was paid to the coordination of work, including the transfer of equipment between districts.                               The deputy held a number of meetings with people and explained the algorithm for providing assistance from the state. In total, 125 families were affected by floods in the region. According to preliminary calculations, the amount of damage is 207.9 million tenge. As of today, 71 families have received 38.3 million tenge of payments for the repair and restoration of housing. There are no social facilities damaged by the flood.
