Deputies help regions prepare for a new wave of floods


April 12th. Mazhilismen continue to work in the regions affected by floods. In some localities, the water is receding, in others a new phase is expected. At meetings with citizens, deputies explain how the damage caused by the elements will be restored, and also help in preparing for future flooding.

Majilismen Nartai Sarsengaliyev, Edil Zhanbyrshin, Rinat Zaitov, Maksat Tolykbayev and Abzal Kuspan are located in Atyrau region. They got acquainted with the construction of dams, which are being built to prevent floods. One of them is on the territory of the Sokolok canal, which covers the Zhuldyz microdistrict of Atyrau and the surroundings of the villages Aksai, Akzhar, Talkairan, Besikty. To date, 8 km of the 15 km of the dam have been built.

In Kostanay region, deputy Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva took part in the evacuation of residents of the Karasu district. 8 out of 39 settlements are located in the flood zone here. In the village of Karamyrza, 33 courtyards and 53 residential buildings were damaged.

At a meeting with local residents, the Mazhiliswomen explained what compensation is due to flood victims. To do this, a special commission will calculate the damage caused. The list of affected citizens, whose housing is recognized as emergency, will be formed by local akimats.

Now local executive bodies will start working where there is an opportunity to restore the house. Where it does not exist, as stated by the Government, new houses will be built on the former sites. However, if these areas remain in the flood zone, then it will be possible to change the location, this issue will be resolved, – Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva explained.

Today, the flood in the Kostanay region is on the decline. In the region, more than 150 private residential buildings remain in the flood zone in six settlements of Karasu and Kostanay districts, as well as in the regional center.

Deputy Vera Kim continues to work in the Pavlodar region. She got acquainted with the technical condition of water-retaining dams, fortifications and embankments in the village of Atameken and the village of Kenzhekol.

The first phase of floods passed without incident here, the second is expected during the period of water releases from the Upper Irtysh cascade of reservoirs in the East Kazakhstan region. In order to prevent flooding, work is underway to import soil to strengthen embankments. Atameken has about 2 thousand tons of soil, 6.5 thousand tons of sand were imported to Kenzhekol.

Flooding due to water discharge threatens the city of Aksu. Aboveground embankments were built here on the southeastern side. Also, protective structures with a length of 1,020 m and a height of 4.5 m are being built on the embankment of the Irtysh River, more than 3 thousand tons of soil have been used.

In an interview with experts and representatives of departmental structures, Vera Kim drew attention to the need to check warning systems, identify evacuation sites, and regularly monitor the situation. Now rescuers are on duty in settlements around the clock, specialists are conducting an inspection and inspection of fortifications.
