Astana, March 11, the House of the Mazhilis. A Bureau meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov, at which, according to the proposals of the relevant committees, a draft agenda for the upcoming plenary session was formed.

Legislative amendments on the issues of support for the use of renewable energy sources, electric power industry and natural monopolies are being submitted for discussion by deputies in the first reading. The bill was developed by members of Parliament and is aimed at regulating the energy sector, including the development of small-scale facilities for the use of renewable energy sources, and creating favorable conditions for attracting investment in the industry. In this regard, amendments are proposed to the Business Code, the Code "On Customs Regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the laws "On Electric Power Industry", "On support for the use of renewable energy sources".

In the first reading, it is proposed to consider amendments on the optimization of the Criminal, Criminal Procedure and Penal Enforcement Codes. The draft law was developed in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State given in the Message to the People of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2022 on the audit of the Criminal Code and the CPC, and the Presidential Election program "Fair Kazakhstan – for everyone and for everyone. Now and forever." The adoption of the draft law will strengthen the protection of the constitutional rights of citizens, ensure the effective implementation by participants in criminal proceedings of their procedural rights and obligations, and enhance respect for human rights in the penitentiary system.

Government amendments on the improvement and expansion of the sphere of administrative justice provide, in particular, for the transfer of certain categories of public law disputes from the Code of Civil Procedure to the plane of administrative justice. This bill is also proposed to be considered in the first reading.

It is planned to adopt a new draft law on the ratification of the Kazakh-Uzbek intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the field of ecology and environmental protection.
